I've been struggling with anxiety for months. Today I finally called a helpline. The person was so kind. Please don't be afraid to call — they really do care.

To anyone feeling like they don't belong anywhere — I see you. I felt that way for years. It does get better. Not all at once, but slowly, steadily. Hold on.

Today was really dark. I didn't get out of bed until 4pm. But I'm here, writing this, and that's something. Small victories count.

Real People. Real Healing.

Hope & Recovery Stories

These are real stories of people who found their way through darkness. Proof that healing is possible — and your story isn't over yet.

💚
These stories describe depression, anxiety, loneliness, and suicidal thoughts. If distressed, please
🌦️
Depression

Maria, 34 – "I Thought I'd Never Smile Again"

For two years, Maria barely left her apartment. Depression felt like "wearing a heavy suit that never came off." After reaching out to a therapist, the suit began to lift — slowly, then all at once. Today she tends a garden and says growth takes time and patience.

"Please don't give up. The version of you that smiles again is waiting."

🌀
Anxiety

James, 26 – "Panic Attacks Ruled My Life"

James had his first panic attack at 19. For years, anxiety controlled where he could go and who he could be. CBT and breathing exercises transformed his relationship with fear. He now teaches mindfulness to university students.

"Anxiety lied to me for years. Healing taught me to recognize the lie."

🌙
Loneliness

Priya, 41 – "I Had Everything and Felt Nothing"

Priya moved countries for work and found crippling loneliness despite a good job. She describes watching people laugh from behind glass. One community group changed everything. She found her people, one awkward coffee at a time.

"Connection doesn't fall from the sky. The reaching is terrifying and completely worth it."

🌅
Crisis & Survival

Ahmed, 29 – "I Called the Hotline at 3am"

Ahmed was at the lowest point a person can reach when he dialed a crisis number with shaking hands. The voice stayed with him for hours. That night changed his life. Today he volunteers for the same line, being that voice for others.

"I'm grateful every day that I made that call. Someone chose to care."

🕊️
Grief

Lin, 52 – "Grief Nearly Swallowed Me Whole"

When Lin lost her husband of 25 years, grief became indistinguishable from depression. A grief counselor and support group gave her language for what she felt. Healing wasn't moving on — it was learning to carry love differently.

"Grief is love with nowhere to go. When you understand that, you stop fighting it."

🌻
Youth

Daniel, 17 – "School Made Me Feel Invisible"

Daniel felt like a ghost in his own school — present but unseen. Bullying and academic pressure pushed him into isolation. His school counselor created space for him to talk. Art became his outlet. He now runs a mental health club at school.

"One teacher looked at me like I mattered. That was enough to start believing I did."

Your Story Isn't Over

Every person in these stories had a moment when they thought there was no way forward. Every single one was wrong. You are still here. That means your story still has chapters left to write.

Our Mission

Xorane 24 was created out of a simple belief: no one should face their darkest moments alone. Mental health affects every human being on earth — yet stigma, cost, and access barriers prevent millions from getting help.

We are not therapists. We are not a crisis line. We are a community and a reminder that the world is better with you in it.

✦ Xorane 24 was designed and built by Induwara Nirmal — with a vision to make mental health support accessible to everyone in the world, for free.
